Representative Anthony Weiner finally came clean about the lewd, twitter photos that he reportedly sent to a young woman. He had repeatedly lied about the incident trying to avoid embarrassment and hurting the democratic party. He confessed in front of a large crowd at a Manhattan news conference that he did indeed send a lewd twitter photo. Even more surprising than the picture was the fact that he admitted to having engaged very inappropriately with six other women through social networking sites. All of this casts a doubt on his competence as a representative. Despite all the turmoil and the dems demanding a resignation, Weiner still refuses to resign.
All of this is so sad to see from a congressman who should be working to fix the problems of our economy, not sitting around sending indecent pictures to random women on Facebook and Twitter. This type of behavior is unacceptable. Our congressmen and women should be more accountable than they are. We don't vote them into office to be irresponsible and reckless. Maybe we should have a better system for keeping them responsible. Should Weiner resign? Should he be impeached? Should he continue being able to represent American people of his state?
